Art Curriculum Intent
At Muscliff Primary School, Our Art curriculum aims to support, inspire and challenge pupil’s creativity and artistic method. We equip our students with the knowledge and skills that they need to participate in, experiment with, invent and create their own works of art.
We expose the children to a range of carefully selected artists* and art mediums and encourage their own exploration.
From the start of Reception to the end of Year 6, pupils at Muscliff will learn, develop and progress across the areas of drawing, colour, texture, sculpture and printing. From Year One, children will document their artistic evolution in their sketch book, which will develop with them and showcase their progression throughout their time at Muscliff.
Our progression map allows children to extend their knowledge and skills throughout their primary school journey to become educated, diverse and proficient artists.
