Curriculum Intent

At Muscliff Primary, we want our children to master the technology they use as it will play a pivotal part in their future. We want to educate our children how to stay safe online through a focused curriculum (with the support of EVOLVE) exploring existing and new technology they will encounter both at home and school. We want to develop positive and responsible attitudes to using technology and ensure their digital literacy for a growing online presence that our children have. We want our children to evaluate the choices they have and make for how they utilise technology (especially social media) and recognise that education is the best prevention for many issues that emerge online.

Our curriculum will encompass other subjects to create a cross-curricular approach to our learning, building on the layers of knowledge they have gained in previous years. We will give our children the opportunity to explore, create, evaluate, and de-bug, while developing their fluency in a range of programs including SCRATCH and when using Google Chrome. We want our children to become confident that they can choose the best tools to approach a challenge.
