Administering of Medicine

Some pupils will have medical conditions that require support so that they can attend school regularly and take part in school activities.

We would ask that you come into school and discuss your child's medical condition with us, we will then ask you to complete a form for us to administer the medication on your behalf.  If this is an ongoing medical condition then we would review this annually.

Medical Conditions such as Asthma, Diabetes and Eczema can be managed at school or you can come in during the school day and administer the medication yourself.

Antibiotics or eye drops can also be administered upon instruction from the parent or guardian. We will not be able to administer non prescription medicines such as Calpol/paracetamol/nurofen.  Only medicines prescribed by a doctor will be given once a form has been completed. If you wish to give your child any medicine during the school day, then please feel free to come into school and we will bring your child to the office for you.

Please come into the office and speak to a member of staff if you have any concerns about your child's medication.
