Thursday 30th April

Thank you 5KF and 5RD for staying in touch this week! It is so lovely to hear from you and how resilient and creative many of you are being in these times. A shout out to 5BP… Where are you?! Please send us an email if only to say hello. We hope you are all safe and well.

Being so interested in our Space topic earlier in the year, it is easy to see why Chloe chose Neil Armstrong to research in more detail! We love your creative 3D design of the moon landing and writing to match. What a great idea!

Alongside other learning, Molly has really enjoyed filling out the time capsule and creating her own bit of history within living memory. Molly has also been inspired by our teacher videos, being more successful at Mrs Pearse’s baking than Mr Deans’ handstand by all accounts…! Your cakes do look delicious and well done for taking on both challenges and having a go.

Louie has again told us about all the activities and great variety in learning that has been keeping him busy. It’s wonderful to see him on the Doodle Leader board each week! We love that you’ve chosen Wonder by RJ Palacio to start reading; we had chosen this text to read in class throughout the Summer term and think it’s a great choice. The book is a brilliant read and very different to the stories we’ve read so far in Year 5. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do… perhaps you can send us a book review when you’ve finished.

Isabel sent us some great pictures of the work she has been doing. It’s lovely to see that you and your dad have been teaming up to learn some new skills. We are particularly impressed with the wooden aeroplane you made using old fence cuttings and a drill. It looks like you too were inspired by Mrs Pearce’s baking… looking at your cookies makes us hungry!

A last-minute email has arrived in time from Charlie, representing 5BP wonderfully with a bit of baking himself. A lovely looking chocolate sponge!

Katie has shown us some beautiful art work ready to display on her windows at home. We’re sure the passers-by will love looking at them!

Stars of the Week!

5BP – Michaela for her 'little & often' Doodle work.

5KF – Chloe. Miss Fisher thinks your 3D model looking out from the moon is out of this world!!

5RD – Isabel for her huge variety in learning at home.

News from us

We have had so many lovely messages to say that you’re missing each other, us and being at school. We certainly feel the same. Hopefully you’ve seen the messages we left for you on the class page but in case not, it’s here too.
