Thursday 14th May
On Friday, to mark VE Day, Charlie spoke to his Nanny and learnt some family history that even his Dad did not know! We can’t believe how close your Granddad came to tragedy; thank you for sharing such an amazing story.
Charlie was also busy baking some yummy looking 5RD cookies. There are clearly some incredible Year 5 bakers out there!
Louie celebrated his birthday this week – HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOUIE!
He was given a brilliant telescope so he will be able to do some stargazing and appreciate the wonders of the universe. He has also been busy doing science and craft work – we see a super scientific future for you Louie!
Ollie has amazed us with his creative skills this week. Just look at this incredible picture of a jaguar!
Mr Deans' Stop Motion Animation Challenge
Ollie has also taken on Mr. Deans stop motion animation challenge. He’s replaced the skittles for fruit pastels and just might have done a better job than Mr Deans – well done Ollie!
Katie has also sent in a brilliant stop motion animation using sticky ninjas - we love it!
We would love to see more of your animations. Pop over to the main Year 5 page to watch Mr. Deans’ tutorial and example.
Katie has also been busy learning about Independence Day and Rosa Parks and also created the beautiful poem below. You’ve blown our socks off Katie – well done!
Stars of the Week:
5RD – Ollie, for your incredible artwork, animation and brilliant efforts to have a go (and succeed!) at all of our Year 5 challenges!
5BP – Lola T, for your incredible dedication to Doodle Spell. We can’t believe how many stars you have earned!
5KF – Max, for your commitment to Doodle maths and English. You have also completed all of your extra spelling tasks each week – well done!
