Impetigo
Dear Parents
We would like to advise you that unfortunately we have had an outbreak of impetigo which is a common and highly contagious skin infection that causes sores and blisters. It's not usually serious and often improves within a week of treatment.
We have been advised by Public Health England that the virus has an incubation period of 4 to 10 days and should any symptoms develop over Christmas then you should see a doctor for confirmation and treatment.
Please read the additional guidance which can be found on the NHS Choices website (info on impetigo) https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/impetigo/
Kind regards
