Friday 8th November 2019 - Head teacher's message
Welcome back! - we hope you had a lovely half term week. On Monday our teachers met together to review Spring term topics... we have lots of great ideas to enthuse and motivate the children. Part of the day was spent looking at the progression of skills the children learn in History, Geography and Science and how they are built on during each year and across the key stages.
It was good to see the children back on Tuesday, ready to start their new topics... I particularly enjoyed seeing the Y2 children baking bread and discussing the construction of the houses in Pudding Lane (Great Fire of London topic).
Mrs Huns and I have been showing prospective parents around the school for the past two weeks. Many commented on the wonderful Muscliff manners they saw from children around school and how happy and settled the Reception children are. 😄
Next week we look forward to seeing you all at one of our Parents Evenings. We have a visiting book fair that will be open during these times to give you the opportunity to order books (perhaps for Christmas gifts?).
On Friday next week we will be raising money for Children in Need - please send your child in to school in 'Sporty clothes' as we hope to join Joe Wicks (sadly not in person) to participate in the 'Big Morning Move' with other schools across the country. We ask for a donation (suggested £1) to join in.
After school there will be a cake sale on the playground - please bring along some change (20p per cake) and a carrier/ paper bag please. If you would like to donate cakes, please send your child in with them on the morning. Many thanks.
Have a good weekend, Mrs Fenby
