Friday 6th March - Headteacher's message
We all had a great World Book Day yesterday - the children enjoyed having stories read to them by different teachers, sharing books with children in another year group and being part of a whole school story write! We look forward to publishing the story once it has been put together. A big thank you to Mrs Wood, Miss Patrick and Mr White who organised the activities for the day. The 'share a million stories' total is now 22,021 with 2EW and 4AW being the highest scoring classes this week.
All of the children have been given a £1 book voucher to spend at WHSmiths or other book shops during the month of March. There are many £1 books available (see photo below for some of the options). If you do not use the voucher please bring it back into school so that we can use it to benefit the children.
A huge well done to our Y5/6 girls football team who competed in a tournament today at the University to celebrate International Women's Day. They were overall champions scoring 19 goals between them! This team are also through to the final four in the League competition - which they will play on 17th March. We wish them luck! We are all very proud of them.
If you have not already done so, please remember to book your parents evening appointment for 17th or 19th March. Please contact the office if you are unable to access the online system.
Mrs Harvey has set up a dedicated page on the website with updated information about the Coronavirus. We receive daily updates from the DfE and will update you as necessary.
Next Friday Mike will be in school in the afternoon to say goodbye to the children. We will also give him the card, book and a gift from parents, staff and children. If you would like to contribute to the collection or write in the book, please come in before Wednesday.
Have a lovely weekend,
Enjoy lots of reading time!
