Friday 31st January 2020 - Head teacher's message
It was lovely to see many of you attending this week's 'book look' on Tuesday - I hope you enjoyed the opportunity to see your child's work. There will be another opportunity in March (17th/19th) during our next parents' evenings. You will receive more information about how/ when to book your appointments after half term.
Following the introduction of the 'Trick box' programme this term, the children have been learning the 'mirror mirror' trick this week to support with their self esteem. This trick encourages children (and adults) to focus on different aspects of their personality, qualities and actions that they are proud of - not an easy thing for many of us to do! Please encourage your child to see the good in themselves and celebrate their strengths.
In assembly next week we will be focusing on mental health, talking to the children about the importance of sharing their feelings and worries.
Finally, I have some very sad news to share with you all. After over 20 years, our wonderful lollipop man Mike has resigned from his role; this is with immediate effect. I am sure many of you will want to join us in thanking him for all he has done for the school over the years. There will be a collection envelope in the office from Monday – if you would like to contribute and sign a card please pop in to do so. We will also arrange something special from the children and staff too, and present them to Mike in a special assembly in the coming weeks.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend... and the rain stops!
