Friday 14th February - Head teacher's message

Good afternoon,

We are now half way through the school year! I am really pleased with the progress and developments so far, but I am very keen to keep improving the school... we are working very hard to ensure our curriculum is as relevant and exciting as it can be, providing the best opportunities for our children. After half term our new menu will begin, offering the children more choice of 'home cooked' meals.

I would like to say a big thank you to the MPA for their support this year - last night's disco was another big success. The children loved it and were all really well behaved. With thanks to the MPA we look forward to using our new Chrome books after half term. The basketball hoops will be installed at the end of February and the new reading and phonics books will be shared with the children in Reception and Year One very soon.

Our KS2 choir have been rehearsing the 'Joseph' songs for many weeks ahead of the performances at The Bishop Of Winchester school after half term. They are really pleased to be given this opportunity to support this show... I am sure they will keep practicing the words over the holiday!

A bit of sports news... on Tuesday Miss Vella took 10 of our Y2 children to a multi-skills event - they had a great time and were "the best behaved children in attendance" according to the staff at the receiving school! Well done Y2s.
This week our Y6 football teams competed against Moordown St Johns; the boys drew 3-3 yesterday and the girls have just won 9-0! Well done to everyone involved.

Today we said goodbye to Mrs Johnstone (Y2 teacher) who has worked at Muscliff for many years. We are sorry to lose her and thank her for hard work and dedication to the school over the years.

Please make sure you have read this month's newsletter, emailed out earlier in the week. A copy is on our school website too.

I hope you all have a lovely half term break. Stay safe.
