Friday 10th January - Head teacher's message
We have had a really good first week back - we have all been delighted with how well the children have settled back in.
On Monday we met as a staff to have training with Suzanne Miles, creator of 'Trick Box' - a programme designed to develop children's emotional resilience. Next week Mr Jackson-Taylor will be launching the programme with the children in assemblies, and the children will learn their first 'tricks' during the week. More information will be given to parents in the coming weeks. (https://trickbox.co.uk/)
On Tuesday in assemblies I talked to the children about our three school rules - Ready Respectful and Safe. The children shared ideas about what each of those words mean in practice; being READY to join in, to use time well, to listen and have a positive mental attitude; being RESPECTFUL towards teachers and other children, looking after equipment, thinking about how we are speaking to each other -words, tone, body language; and being SAFE around school, being in the right place at the right time and having kind hands, feet and words.
For those of you with children in Reception and KS1 please look out for a questionnaire at the start of next week about school lunches - we are really keen to get your feedback and ideas for improving the menu choices ready for our new menu later in February.
Well done to our Y5/ 6 football teams this week - they both showed great teamwork and sportsmanship when they played against Epiphany - the boys drew their game 2-2, and the girls won 4-1.
I hope you all enjoy the weekend. .
See you on Monday morning,
Mrs Fenby 😃
