Keeping in touch
Sophie has designed her own t-shirt inspired by her kitten, Cuddles. She turned 11 on May 19 and had a lovely day of socially distanced visits from family and friends, a six-mile ride on her new bike and a delicious gluten free Pizza Hut delivery!
Happy Birthday Sophie! It sounds like you had a lovely day and the pizza sounds delicious. You must of needed it after your long bike ride! We also love your t-shirt!
Max has been busy every day doing bits and pieces.
He's been learning the art of cutting and pasting from websites without plagiarising! Not fully honed yet! He's started by taking the web text and inserting synonymous phrases and is now moving towards reading the text and then closing it so he can write what he remembers in his own words.
He's been trying to get better at chess. There's also den building and tree climbing to keep him busy.
Well done Max! It sounds like you have been doing some great things! We really enjoyed reading your work!
Here's a couple of photos of the Dyson Challenges we have done this week. We would have done the jelly sweet one, but they got eaten 😅
Oh and I have a skateboarder on my hands!!
Looks like you have been doing lots of great things Dan! Keep up the great work!
I've also been doing some coding. I'm using C# (or C sharp) for unity (which is a platform where you can make games). There is a file attached of the coding! I also had a go at this angle question!
Fantastic work Seth! You are a wizard with the computer!
Harry has found his own ingenious way to show everyone his research on inventors in the 1800’s - first he researched, and then had lots of fun finding items in the home to represent what he had discovered!
What a great idea Harry! We love seeing how creative you are all being.
A message from Aimee - Here are a few pieces of my work I have done over the last couple of weeks. I also have attached a photo of the first of my cooking challenges from the Castlepoint chef academy which was a shepherds pie and my next challenge is to make a chicken kiev.
Some fantastic work Amiee and the shepherds pie looks delicious! We can't wait to see your homemade chicken kiev.
Harry has been practising his cooking skills! He made awesome scrambled eggs on toast for mums birthday breakfast! Followed by pasta bolognese for dinner. Mum says it was very tasty! Harry is enjoying the topic of Entrepreneurs. He has been busy researching inventions- he will be sharing his timeline with you soon!
Happy Birthday Harry's mum! The food looks delicious Harry, I am not surprised she enjoyed it! We look forward to seeing all your Entrepreneur work.
Charlotte has made this advert from this week's homework sheet, to sell a house she designed!
We absolutely love it Charlotte and would definitely buy your house!
Dan has been doing some gardening, and has got some vegetables growing. When they are a bit stronger we will plant them in the garden.
It will be lovely to see them when they are planted and fully grown Dan!
It has been lovely to see Seth's project progressing over the last week, well done Seth! We can't wait to see what you come up with this week.
Over the week, I have made some stop-motion animations to pass the time.
The app that I used is called Stop Motion Studio and it it did the job well as I decided that one animation wasn't enough so I made another one.
It was made it on the dining room table it and uses Lego boost (as did the phone holder).
Attached are the films and a collage showing the the app.
Caleb has been doing some perspective drawing this afternoon which we think is brilliant! You are a super artist and well done on your riddle answers!
Hope to see you when we get back to school.
Wow Veronica, you have been getting lots done during your learning from home! The books you choose from the library are particular favourites of ours. :)
Last monday we've started the 'Entrepreneurs' topic and Veronika has learned a lot of interesting facts about famous people, new idioms, what is revenue, profit and loss. She decided to create a poster not only about Richard Branson but about Walt Disney as well as she was very excited to learn more about the 'father' of her favourite characters.
Now our family team is looking forward to start the fidget spinner project as we all have some ideas already.
We hope you have fun with the fidget spinner project and are already looking forward to seeing what you create!
Wow you both have been busy! We love your poster and the egg blowing looks like so much fun! The chalk art looks great and we are sure it will make a lot of people smile as they walk by.
Aimee and Maisie would like to share the Easter challenge that we created. I’ve attached a picture of the art we painted together and which is displayed in our front porch.
Some other activities we have done over Easter include making a wormery, we blew and marbleised some eggs and we made chocolate cornflake cakes. Aimee also decorated the porch with chalk creations! I’ve attached a few pictures for you to see what we’ve been up to!

Alesha, Ben, Isla, Harry, Holly, Sophie, Alice, Lola, Max, Millie, Charlotte, Ellie, Hannah, Kianna, Liam and Luke.
It has been lovely to see your crystal tree project Myla! Here is her message:
These are pictures of me and my brothers crystal tree project they are in order from when we coloured them in ,when they started growing and finally when they are fully bloomed.
What we had to do was colour them in i did mine pink and green and my brother made his blue green orange purple and pink, but the strange thing is on mine the crystals grew white but my brothers they grew multi coloured. I think it is because his tree was more colourful and darker where as mine was a lighter tone but it is still a little bit odd because he used both pink and green as well, but it still looked cool white and at least it grew. My parents also brought me a don’t panic SATS maths work book so that i can carry on doing some of the subjects in maths that we might have been doing at school (yay👍)
Finally I have got a few more chapters into my book which is the nowhere emporium once again it is a great book!
This arrived in the post today. I’m going to build it to help when I teach a certain book next year. Can anyone remember which plane it is?
This looks amazing boys!
Here is Dans star picture.
We are going to send it to be part of the art display at display at Nightingale Ward.
We love that you have used the star project in such a positive way Dan!
Max has done lots of school work but is also making things, like the spiderman wrist shooter. It's got something spring loaded inside which pings out. I was particularly impressed as the how-to -do-it YouTube video was in Hungarian and he persisted with pausing the video and the subtitles! He's also started a new puzzle.
Well done Max, keep up the super work!
Wow Myla, you have had a busy week! We would love to hear if more of you have been reading any of our recommended reads and look forward to reading your book report! It is also great to hear you working so hard on your 10 minute tests, keep it up. :)
This week I opened my shark dig kit and dug for three shark teeth of crow shark, otodus obliquus (two of which are extinct) lastly the sand tiger shark.
The book that I am currently reading is the nowhere emporium off the recommended reads list I am finding it brilliant it is so detailed and mysterious it is one of the best books I have read I would certainly recommend to a friend or family member.
I also helped my parents dig up some soil and then they sprinkled some wild flower seeds over the freshly dug soil!
This week my new project is growing a crystal tree with my brother, I will let you all know next week how we get on with this.
Seth has had a great first week at home! Today he made a 'Song Bag' as a gift for his baby cousin. He typed out lots of nursery rhymes, sourced/made props for the bag, organised a courier to send it and wrote a letter with instructions on how to use it!
We are sure you cousin loved this Seth! What a lovely idea. :)
Thomas and Charlie have been doing some fun based learning and A LOT of PE in the beautiful sunshine, mainly football and trampoline!
Charlotte also wanted to share some of her work using Art Hub today and we must say it looks amazing! Art Hub on youtube is worth a visit if you want to get creative!
