Day for Change
As a Rights Respecting school, Muscliff are supporting Unicef’s ‘Day for Change’ on Friday 2nd February. Taking part is our opportunity to teach the children about nutrition and raise vital funds to help keep hungry children safe and healthy.
Just £3.50 could provide a class of 30 children with vitamin A supplements to stop blindness
£5 could provide life-saving therapeutic milk to treat a severely malnourished child for five days
Just £16 could provide critical vitamin and micro nutrient supplements for two toddlers for a whole year
Raising £50 could provide education on nutrition and child feeding for 250 mothers or care givers of children under two
We will be asking the children to make a change for the day; this could be to wear their pyjamas, mufti, fancy dress, wear their own clothes differently (e.g. backwards, odd shoes), have crazy hair etc. (Please can we ask that the children do not wear sports kits and that clothing is appropriate for going outside in cold weather). We are asking the children to bring in their ‘spare change’- every penny counts! We have successfully raised thousands of pounds for Unicef over the years by taking part in Day for Change and it is something we as a school are very passionate about supporting. We will be discussing Day for Change in our circle times so that the children understand why we are supporting this very worthy cause.
Many thanks in advance for your continuing support.
