The Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) recognises achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of a school’s planning, policies, practice and ethos.
A rights-respecting school not only teaches about children’s rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships: between teachers / adults and pupils, between adults and between pupils.
In the summer term of 2010 Muscliff Primary were the proud receivers of Level 1 of the Rights Respecting Schools Award. Staff, pupils and the whole school community came together to promote the Rights Respecting approach in many ways; from policies to classroom environment.
Some of our children are Rights Leaders and their important job is to represent pupil voice and promote the protection of children's rights in this country as well as around the world.
